Looking Forward to a Spooky Week

Hello to all of you Ghosts and Goblins,

I hope you are all ready for a spooky and fun week, the Halloween Season is finally upon us. Last week students had the opportunity to purchase Boo Bags for their friends at lunch. The Boo Bags will be delivered on Friday to the Homeroom classrooms. Halloween and Fall celebrations will take place on Friday afternoon during the last period of the day.

On Thursday we are expecting some very special guests at Yelle. Mrs. Henri A. Yelle and her daughter Henrietta are coming to visit the Yelle school. We are very excited to have the Yelle family meet with some of the students and staff, we want to show the Yelle's what a day at our school is like. On Thursday we will also have our Third Helping Hands meeting. During this time the students will be assembling the Boo Bags for the students. We will also be looking at the food donations that are being collected by the students. We are trying to get a wide variety of food products for the Food Pantry.

Have a great week,

Mrs. Lisa Farrell

Fall is a Busy Time of Year

Last week ended the Candy Drive Fund Raiser at The Yelle. Students did a great job selling candy to help support the school. The money raised through this activity goes towards educational programs throughout the year, field trips for both grades 4 and 5 and supplies for the classrooms. We appreciate all of the hard work that the students, parents and especially the PTO puts into this program.

Nurse Rogers has been going into all of the classrooms to tell the children about the Healthy Snack Program and about the Design a Menu Contest. The students are all trying to have their class win the survivor party for the month of October. It will be interesting to see if Mrs. Morse's class will be the top class again this year for fourth grade.

Homework Heroes started last week, the afterschool homework club will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-3:30. Currently, we have about 22 students taking advantage of this opportunity to get homework done without stress and tears. The class is held in the computer lab with Mrs. Haglund and Mrs. Oakley.

The Citizens of The Month for September were chosen on Friday. The students came to the office and had their picture taken and received their certificates. Congratulations to Justin G., Jack V., Shawn M., Shane M. and Karoline W.

I hope that everyone got the opportunity to get outside and enjoy the beautiful fall weekend. Have a great week!
